Our platform is designed to deliver cost effective formulations across a broad range of microbes, including Gram negative bacteria, typically within three months, allowing partners to test a commercially relevant product early in R&D rather than at the end.
Our Process
Analyze the Microbe Needs
We assess the biology of the microbe, including its growth behavior, formulation constraints, intended mode of use, and key development considerations. This allows us to understand what the product must achieve technically and commercially.
Define the Right Formulation
We define the formulation requirements based on the intended use, target market, regulatory needs, sustainability goals, and practical application considerations. The objective is to design the right product format from the beginning.
Develop the Right Formulation
Using our patented LiveGrow™ technology, we develop a commercial grade formulation designed for real world use. This includes alignment with cost of goods targets, shelf stability requirements, manufacturability, and end use requirements.
Advise on Greenhouse & Field Trial Design
We advise clients on how the formulation should be tested so that greenhouse and field trials generate meaningful data around the right product. This includes guidance on protocol design, handling, application fit, and other factors that influence field success.
Transition into Toll Manufacturing
Once these four stages are complete, the formulation can move directly into LiveGrow Bio’s toll manufacturing service. By this point, the key formulation questions have been addressed, including the requirements for field success, regulatory fit, cost of goods optimization across production volumes, sustainability requirements for organic or conventional markets, and shelf stability of the specific formulation.

Every LiveGrow™ Product Formulation engagement includes the core work needed to develop a commercial grade formulation designed for real world use. For clients who need deeper support, we also offer optional advisory services tailored to the program, internal experience level, and commercialization goals.

In most cases, within three months, LiveGrow Bio delivers a commercial grade formulation of the client’s microbe designed for real world use. Each engagement includes an initial room temperature shelf stability model based on the three month depreciation curve observed for the specific formulation, a greenhouse and field trial SOP tailored to the client’s target crops and intended use, and guidance on how the client can perform CFU analysis and purity checks on the samples received. We also provide 10 pounds of formulated product samples so the client can begin greenhouse and early field evaluation with a commercially relevant product rather than an unformulated lab culture.

Some programs require more than the core microbial formulation to become a grower ready commercial product. LiveGrow Bio can provide additional development support to design complementary components or supporting ingredients that work in synergy with the formulation, and to integrate them into a practical in box solution. This can also include product format, packaging, pack size, handling, mixing sequence, and end use design so the product can be delivered as a single, easier to use offering rather than a solution that depends on separate products, extra sourcing, or complicated field instructions.

Some clients need support beyond the standard SOP to ensure greenhouse and field trials are run under controlled, reproducible conditions and generate interpretable data. LiveGrow Bio can provide deeper agronomy and technical support around application protocol, equipment fit, nozzle selection, agitation requirements, handling, storage, biological support conditions, troubleshooting, CFU verification, and team alignment before and during trial execution. This helps reduce preventable mistakes that can waste formulated material, delay timelines, and produce trial results that are difficult to interpret or compare.

Some microbes may support commercial opportunities beyond the initial target use case. LiveGrow Bio can provide additional assessment of new product paths through literature review, market and disease prioritization, technical feasibility analysis, and early development planning. This helps clients determine whether an additional foliar, soil, seed, or other application pathway should be pursued now, staged for a later phase, or deprioritized so development resources stay focused on the most promising commercial opportunities.
